ESSL
ART AWARD CEE 2017

Awarded by the Essl Museum, powered by the main shareholder of VIENNA INSURANCE
GROUP

"The ESSL ART AWARD CEE can actually be a springboard for young artists. Progress is
being made as a result of it, and that is tremendously important to me."

Prof. Agnes Essl
(founder of the ESSL ART AWARD CEE)

ESSL ART AWARD CEE 2017

In 2005 the collector couple Prof. Agnes and Karlheinz Essl launched the ESSL ART
AWARD CEE, which by now has established as a sustainable and well-known project for the
promotion of young artistic talents from Central-and South-Eastern Europe.

Conferred every two years the ESSL ART AWARD is dedicated to the discovery and support
of art students in Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia,
Slovenia and Turkey. The ESSL ART AWARD aims at supporting artists while being in
education. Collaboration with the art academies is a central point in this endeavour, as they
are the nucleus and well-established centres for the training of future generations of artists.
The Award is directed to art students, who are not yet established on the art market.

One main goal of the award is to offer a broad and multi-layered insight into the young art scene of
this region and offer the artists the opportunity to present their works in an international museum's
context.

NB: ONLINE APPLICATIONS only!

Registration: 01 May - 30 June 2016

Submission: until 31 August 2016
